dont forget life leech worked in xpack too for a bit. i remember having 52% or something insane like that. not until xpack did bvb duels last fuckin 30 minutes plus cuz of so high life leech. thats why i think they nerfed it in duels.

Exe/ Lancer barbs were around since 1.04 (before that, two handed barbs used bec-de-corbin ^^). 1.06 was never a beta in Classic (it was updated to 1.06b) and 1.07 is the original version of LOD, which was patched to 1.08 the same day it was released, June 29, 2001.

lance was the first weapon that being used widely along with bec-de-corbin then people realized a fact of block on ww so many ppl started use exe sword barb with shield insead of 1 hand wep.
there were two dominant char in pvp @ old days, barb and amazon (gothic bower) I am talking about the year d2 come out on the market year 2000-2001.

that, and orb sorcs who had no delay on cast. then in 1.08 delay started but firewall was powerfull as fuck

Heh, Orb/FW, it was rare to see a sorc with just one base attack =p
ps. I still own my Polearm Classic barb, which was later converted to xp =|
