Food for thought: the old shaft/120-45 setup. Almost as good as the current 160-60/gaze. But what was the real reason behind using the shaft setup?? Was if due to it being the only viable setup with life/dr at the time?? And does anyone know more details about def vs missile?? I've been pondering on the build myself, whether or not the extra def vs missile will help more than the lack of a bit of life and dr from the current setup. +350 def vs missile from shaft, then +100 def vs missile from cat's eye. This stacks onto the overall def rating of the character, but when lets say, ignore targets defense comes into play. this still provides +450 total def vs the missiles overall.
I myself have used the shaft setup, but haven't really questioned it's use since everyone switched to the current
