But maybe i simply misunderstood the Aow-Philosophie.

This it was all about when i played it 15 years ago:

- Implement a playstile with most possible fun for all Barb-Players.
- Implement as many different builds as possible to make it a divers ladder.
- Make movement a part of the game.
- Make mana-management a part of the game.
- Make sure, that also poor guys are able to build a barb that is at least able to beat the top geared barbs from time to time not always losing 100% or need to buy most expansive items.

Thats why poison, dr, replenish and ow are limited same as stupid items like Fortitude and Grief.

Its not my wish to start a rare only ladder.

I like the diversity of old days. Only newest game changes somehow made botd the best in slot-item what is totally agains the AOW-philosophy of old days.




The point that most will probably not understand is this:

You might think that its an advantage if a poor guy is able to use a 403% BOTD-BA he bought for 300 fg because now he has best in slot item.
But thats false. The 415% of the rich guys empower their perfect other gear by an amount that the poorer guys will simply end up in nirvana. The overall level is simply too high.

If all are playing on a somehow reduced gear level the gap between rich and poor is much lower. I know its a paradoxon.

To make it a bit more transparent:


If a average Botd- Barb plays vs a top Botd-Barb the avg one might need 25 hits to kill the "Topboy" while he is dead after already 15 hits.

and

If an average Fools/Cruel-Barb plays vs a top Fools-Barb the avg one might need 16 hits to kill the "Topboy" while he is dead after already 13 hits.


3 more lucky hits is possible while 10 more hits is only a waste of time.

I think its abit missleading to argue about rules in a meet-up topic, when the rules are set in the opening post.
Nontheless a discussion about a change of a rule-set should always be an opportunity the make something better in the end.
Although i cant keep up with everything wich has been said of you in the last two pages, i hope you cooled a bit down today, because you sounded a bit aggressive for some reason.
Imo here are alot of people who are willing and capable to calculate 2 or 3 different setups. as i already said it before, it hasnt been anything new about the fact, that botd is pretty much better then 99% of all rares and grief is better then 99.999% then any other setup.

maybe its a good idea to open a discussion in a new topic related to the rules and you try to create a different ladder with a different rule setup.

ive got some ideas regarding to the affordability of a bvb character.

but just to give something in return to your posts as a casual player:
- my 415 botd ba cost me 2k fg overall
- and the botd is the least problem for me as a casual player compared to a solid inventory today
- even so the lvl disadvantage is a problem for casusals, in case of the chance to hit in a matchup lvl94 vs lvl99 high defence
- its a nearly a waste of time to even start the duel for a lvl94 player

I would say you all finish your AOW-Barbs and letz have some duelz alltogether.

And as i said i have no problem with AOW-Rules at all.

Just my endless hours of calculating showed the really horrible fact that the games changes that occured in D2r in last 3 months led to a situation where average Players are simply left behind.

My calculation showed that the chance for a Average barb lvl 96 using an inventary of 3 max 14ar 20 life small charms with 415 Botd Ba has only a chance of 5-10% of winning rounds vs my barb that is only at 83/100 possible points.

Versus a perfect barb (100/100) the chance to win even 1 round is less than 0,5%.



In Grief-Forti-GM-BVB the gap is so much smaller. All can kill each other with 8-10 hits. Even an lvl 96 Barb has the chance to win vs the best possible lvl 99 barb if he is able to land 2-3 more hits or crits in a round.
But in Aow you will end up in a situation where you need 10 or more hits than your opponent for a win-round what is literally only happening when stars allign.

With these inv prices it’s hard to make a bvb when you don’t have much fg ^^ some ppl probably don’t have his char because they are used to have only perf items and charms like it Was before in the game full of imports
