don't think shadow matters much if youre using 174
maybe only useful to tank a spirit
shadow can be a big damage source itself on a 174 sin, that's part of the bison build, just maxing out shadow, venom and maybe even dflight so it can hit 3k kicks and big venom chips
but even when teleporting around 174, shadow is the safest way to set up these locks and helps prevent people from wiggling out before its perma
look at this sin vs nec matchup, even if the nec goes 125/152 he still can't cast under 174 mb spam alone, but if the sin lets up for even one cast the nec can wiggle out. But if the shadow lays a trap of its own, or dflights in and starts whacking him, the sin can throw in a trap or two and mb spam again without there even being an opening to escape. And then the sin can just hold down 174 mind blast indefinitely and have nothing to damage the necro except mind blast and shadow master and she'll eventually win. Golem really mutes the impact of shadow, though, but sometimes it gets knockbacked away from the nec and the shadow just aggros the nec and ignores the golem and golem remains stunned.
So when we've got these duels, it reduces to necs just IBS training from one side of moor to the other and hoping to never be on the sins minimap. But the sin can teleport just as fast and chase the nec around, and as long as you approach at indirect angles you should avoid IBS chains. So you get to that point where two players are teleporting alongside each other around moor, like all of DHA's bvc vs nec videos (seriously, just go look at how retarded it gets). But the difference here is a 174 sin with shadow with 20 mb is going to knock that nec out of teleports and set up namelocks on its own because autoaim lul
