From an objective viewpoint Marc was dueling offensively enough. He just wasn't going to chase mike too far + mike is smart and used the wall a few times/ the lake/ the puddle field a few times to ensure Marc wouldn't just hold nl on him all the way to cp. Marc died Cus mike does quick peck Smites and doesn't face up which Marc isn't used to. & he dueled more offensively vs mike than I would have tbh.
Mike's build obviously makes it impossible for him to just charge around then outtank every1 smite 4 smite. But that's his fault. IMO it's defensive af but not too hard to counter. It's not unreasonable for some ppl to feel its over defensive. At the same time others may see it the other way.
