Technically, this is a rule that I came up with and was unanimously accepted and acknowledged in our private guild ladder from last season:
You are allowed to respec your character's stats if you get a new pice of gear, you are not allowed to change your skill set nor are you allowed to change from vita/es/max block/ect.
If you wish to change your skills or if you are max block/vita/es, you must start from the bottom of the ladder (quoted from first page of the rules on this ladder).
However, being that it's only 1 skill point added and you're not changing your entire skill set, i.e. full trap sin to hybrid sin or ghost, I'm pretty sure that no one's going to have an issue with it. I think it's safe to say that everyone here will agree with that as being a petty reason to have someone restart at the bottom of the ladder. I myself respec'd Retsu once because I had one spare skill point. Instead of placing it into Grizzly, I added it to Dire wolf instead (passive life bonus for summons). Now, if you were to respec and max claw mastery, venom, and mindblast, that would be grounds for having to restart the ladder.
