i thought melee vs melee was just who has better imports/more fg-$ spent/etc?

why is there a top 10 list for this?

Yes thats the good point and how it was, is and will be ofc.
just difference is in D2r you pay more $ for worse items than D2lod but its quickly getting pretty same items so soon will be the same :)

About people who have no top gear but are "competitors"
its just people to play with to not stay alone so you have someone to play with you when you have best rare weapon etc. And when two equal items meet on duel,
luck is coming as same as in life.. :)

Diablo PvP was allways about best gear to get = best damage/ar/life ofcourse how can be other? Items are the basic of pvp and whats important, because diablo characters with theyre stats and skills are same for everyone if you got same level of character ofc.

It cant be any other, the best numbers are written and you are going to get this numbers as much as possible,
this is principe of pvp diablo..

The list is actually D2r players who participate in melee tours and won that tours trophies and are making this duels :) As its game and they play the game its simple.
Thats the top 10 list, players who play and win.

Well I mean… paying more for worse items because we don’t have items brought in the game through exploits haha. Not much you can do about that. And because it’s not separated by realm you gotta bid against wayyyy more people. Americans bidding against Europeans bidding against Chinese bidding against Koreans… gets a lot quick

No true at all tho friend :)

Theres not european player in this top 10 players.
Because Europeans players dont play d2r melee.
Europe melee D2Lod = Dead and D2r didnt even started.
(Just Few barb vs barb Art of war d2r duels i see there from Eu but its very few.)

;) Its all mostly america, us and canada...
There are no european players they play just hammerdins necs, druids and sorceress so casters only usually.. ;)

And i said and you can see items are pretty same as Lod very quickly when you can see in ex. laicalized items its not so difference and im sure soon there will be that items,
when you see the game is 2 years old only and what items exist already eth reps etc
We all wait for TR post of some 2os Erep 30-40ias baxe or mallet or scepter etc.

Well, hold on. EU players are not in the Top 10 listed here based on the very specific stats that Stevo compiled, but the gm melee scene on d2r definitely has EU players. Off the top of my head, I know at least two that are extremely active (more so than many North American players) and are buying way more stuff than many players, and are also pretty big spenders. So, yes, you are competing against some EU bidders for items. I'm not sure about the history of EU gm melee but a very well respected player in our community is Lastsoulx , he's EU (not sure but maybe German or something :P ) and he's a wolf druid player.

Your post is completely invalidating what I said though. OK so there are not many EU players. My post was pointing more to the competition between North American and Korean players for the top items. There are just as many if not more Korean GM melee players than North American players. This is a fact that cannot be debated. And we now all have access to the same auctions & sales basically. North American players are constantly bidding against Korean players and the truth of the matter is that Korean players are simply willing to spend more, on average, than North American players. This is probably attributable to a difference in culture where it's much more accepted, normalized, and not stigmatized to blow huge chunks of $$ on video games... video games are seen as a much more respected/legitimate hobby there vs. in North America where its more respected to be a dude and dump money into your car and things like that. Leicalized isnt a good example - he's sort of an inbetween or the "bridge" between NA and other countries, but im talking straight up NA players bidding against straight up Korean players where there is no intermingling, as in language barrier, time zone, etc. prevents us from playing together/interacting but the two communities are still massively competing for items. This never happened in LoD.

Not so specific stats, its easy, there arent Europe players because players from D2Lod didnt came to D2r..
If they came, they would have Trophies from tournaments because they played in D2lod eu melee yeaaars before, there were many tournaments but are gone for years now.

Its Usa Canada again who play d2r melee..

Europe is dead man, you can see UsEast and West D2Lod players are still playing and living melee but Europe is dead... Its fact.
Players from europe probably as i said mostly are traders @ d2r and play druids, necs, sorcs, hammerdins..just normally and not melee duels.

So i dont know about Korean players so yes than its Korean Usa Canada
But again.. i dont see Korean player who is winning tournaments D2r..

Usa Canada.
But still the Core jsp UsEast is still in D2Lod so best US players stayed ofc in original D2 and those who stoped D2Lod years ago and New players came to D2r melee
and begin melee D2r.
But not Europe.
Europe player Oldschool one Bvb Aow created Aow duels topic in legit dueling so him and few of them try to plays there. https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=92555931&f=147

Like I mentioned, Korea has their entire own community with probably more active players than the entire North American scene. gm melee is huge over there. They just built their own freaking website for their own leagues, tournaments, ladders, etc. It's fully functional and more complex than anything the North American gm melee scene is doing. There is a significant language barrier and time zone difference. 90% of them don't use jsp too. They are constantly holding their own tourneys and stuff. You won't know about it unless you're in the relevant discords and are actively looking at it. And they are all bigger spenders than North American players so yes, there are often huge bid wars going on not only North American player vs. other North American players, but NA players vs. Korean players, Korean vs. Korean players, and therefore the price is driven up on desirable items in ways you would have never seen in LoD. This combined with the fact that you can't use Charsifood exploit to "make" items means you will ultimately be paying more for items that are good, but not the insane stuff that was not spawned "naturally" in game in LoD like Ghoul Reaver and Stone Hew etc etc.

EU wolf druid player dropping a huge amount on a druid-only fools weap... this was equivalent to well over $1,000...

OnAir is the exactly one who brought charsifood items in D2Lod too so im not surprised he is in d2r items like this mithril point now friend, nothing changes same ppl :) Its trader - boter - businessman..

Yes asia realm is now huge in comparisson with dead d2lod asia.........
And its completely different world lol

I said just that Europe melee is gone..this is the fact.
If there are 2-3 players it can be barely called "eu scene" ^^;)
I organised probably last tournament in d2lod europe melee, ppl are so AFK and gone that they dont even finish all duels... ;)

Idc who sold it, no one's doing the Charsifood thing in D2R, at least not right now. for multiple reasons

but yeah I know what you're saying. EU is not a big scene in d2r gm melee but some of the top spenders in gm melee are still from there so we are all in competition with one another... whereas in LoD .. NA was vs NA and that was pretty much it
