On this note, I'd like to discuss the topic of enforcing disqualifications based on "overly defensive play".
This is not to be considered spam as it on topic, concerning this ladder in particular actually. What does this ladder view as overly defensive? Obviously the matchup at hand has to be taken into consideration. Most builds are specifically made to benefit from playing aggressively against specific builds. Does this ladder expect Druids to play aggressively against ghosts? I'm afraid in that matchup in particular the Druid has nothing to do besides play defensively for even a smidge of a chance (over statement) of winning against a competent ghost. Same goes to virtually any build of sorceress playing against just about any assassin.
I think a better way to mandate this (which is already in effect) is to regulate the amount of defensive stats and clarify absolute boundaries. IE 40 life rep cap, no passing Flavie and no passing bridge on river maps, or overly abusing boxes. To say that one class HAS to stay on another persons screen or stomp the other character just seems ridiculous to be honest.
Opinions?
This doesnt need to be stated at all. If you really argue with someone in game over being "defensive", stop dueling and request a med. There are tons of competent duelers that are able to make calls on when a class is being overly defensive.
Even just the last time I defended vs you tvd, you were being quite defensive (first duel you literally started on a box and teled around it 4-5 times lol) but i didnt say anything b/c thats the type of m/u it is. In the case of a non block druid vs ghost, I personally wouldnt ever stomp the ghost (unless there being stupid/slow/REALLY bad) since its complete suicide.. One self ww with a mb swirly and your toast. Just staying on the map/in the map range for the majority of that m/u on the druids side would be considered pretty offensive just b/c of that m/u ~.~
