maybe bren enforces it now that he quit.
but during the time when he dueled, he never enforced anything because this is a good advantage for him.

he prolly did.

yeaaa, i know

The original rules dont seem to mention anything about counter-gear (gearing immediately when your opponent goes to gear). Thats the problem. It should simply be added that opponents can not gear at the same time.

exactly. :o

Here we go again...
;)
check the original rules on page 1, tribute to Sir Steve! See what ya think of number 7?

Then JAY bring us back to now, with a good point - gear and counter-gear :)

It's rlly good discuss because i felt it the experience and others prolly also in pn tourney.

everyone is referring to what Bren does because lilNeko said this.

Lilneko was saying how bren told her its illegal and bm and arguing with me said he doesnt gear when other person does.
I just pointed out that Bren does gear with other person gear with proof from obisent and SX-XiP.

And as jayzone mentioned, Bren was top 1 - 3 for more than half of the life of this ladder and he was 1 part of Ladder Council.

So I just dont understand why lilneko would say Bren told her its illegal and bm when Bren would do exact same thing so its either lilneko heard it wrong or she was jusy lying.

i dont lie =\ i have no reason why lol

To my Knowlege Their is no PN Rule prohibiting and Imediate Counter Gear.

Whate the rule should state is this:

If a person states they are going to Gear
Only the person who stated it first may change gear this duel
the oponent of the person Gearing must then wait at least 1 duel to gear

Note: this is not a speed typing contest
The oponent who has not yest geared has priority on the next duel to Gear if they still wish to before the other person my declare a second gear

In other words you may not state Gear do your duel then state gear first again to block/prevent someone from counter Gearing

The Language needs cleaned up a bit but I think this would be a solid addition to UGML rules

BM16. Do not change gear more than once before dueling in any event. (Changing gear is allowed only once before every duel).

This Is the Original and only rule In PN involving Gear Change according to this you could counter Gear right after a opponent but they could not then counter your counter.

I like the no counter Gear 1st to gear and other must w8 till next duel Councel should consider it for UGML

He's giving his opinion on what the rule should be.

IF you have forgotten, bren was top 1 - 3 for more than half of the life of this ladder.

what we are saying is that why wasnt this enforced before the reset?
Why was this only enforced now that another admin experienced it?

The reason why we brought bren up is because noone was against him doing it before.
And now that he left all of a sudden it's bm to gear same time as your opponent.

I never saw or experience bren doing that in all of our duels (which was a lot more than anyone on this ladder) and I would have said something if he did that to me during a match. It has always been considered bm to gear at the same time. In all of my bets only a few people said "Can I gear too?" when i went to gear and I always said no and they accepted that since they figured it wasn't aloud but figured they would ask anyway to see if I cared.

I agree. I don't see what the huge debate is about tbh. We all seem to be agreeding that it should be bm to do it so we should go with steves suggestion imo.
