I’m glad it’s changing some. I stopped playing D2 a few years back after over 14 years of play simply because it became monotonous and boring. Even the PvP was getting stale.

There is a certain level of "imbalanced" where if it is reached, a game just turns to shit and no amount of GM rules is going to work around it.
A good example would be that phase during D2 v1.08 where the only playable classes were Sorc, Bowazon and sometimes talented Necros.
You'd go into games and see 5x Bowas, 2x Sorc, and 1x guy who was ballsy enough to try to keep up vs Bowa with Bone Spirits.
All other classes were just not viable during this time.

^ This is what we DON'T want to see again.
This upcoming patch, judging from what I've seen their design team do so far, is pretty scary to say the least.
I mean all you have to do is read those patch notes that say "Buffing Bone Damage - Buffing Traps - Buffing FoH - Buffing Offensive Auras" and if you knew anything at all about pvp, you should be concerned about this.

I mean, look no further than Path of Exile. I played at release and the PvP was actually decent. Fast forward multiple patches into the games progression with the game devs completely ignoring PvP when it came to balancing/scaling items & skills, and PvP is literally unplayable in that game. Like, you take one step out into Sarn arena and explode from something coming from someone you couldn't see.

If Blizz scales bowazons, bone necros, etc. so they're more viable in PvM without taking into account what it will do in PvP, they will simply just obliterate everything. Bone spirits/spears/GAs/multis one shotting BvAs rocking MB, 50% DR and 6k+ life. That could easily be the future if balance isn't done right.

If thats what you think is scary, you should watch the interview with MrLama and the devs.
Obviously the bone necro is scary, but fire traps aint going to do mumch in pvp :| Not sure if you played pd2, but it sounds to me like they are trying to replicate some of the skill buffs from that, where the assasin's fire traps were pretty strong for pvming, but not for pvp.
Buffing foh is fair, the class is basically not seen in the pvp scene atm only in hybrid builds where the foh barely scratches your forehead. (Might be different in pubs, I dont play pubs).

What you should be afraid of in this patch is the basically the synergies.. They wanted it to become easier for some builds to do hybrid builds. but the fire traps aint going to be much dangerous.
