avg damage = ((min + max)/2) * .52 * (% chance to do dbl damage)*2 *(1/6) + (ow damage)*(% chance to ow) + (cb damage)*(%chance to cb)
(min +max)/2 is your avg damage before introducing other factors
.52 is due to the fact that most of us have 48dr, so we receive .52 of the phys dmg, if u have 50dr then u can change that to .50
% chance to do dbl damage is found by the following equation: %chance to do double dmg= %cs + (100-%cs)*(%ds/100)
1/6 is the pvp penalty
ow damage is based on ur lvl and is usually around 300+ for lvl 93+, % chance to cast ow is based on ur gear
cb damage is low for anged attacks, but i believe its like 1/20th of ur opponents life, dont quote me. % chance to cast cb is based on ur gear
however, you will likely never hit ur avg damage, either u'll spawn a critical strike, or u wont, so in reality % chance to do double damage shuld be changed to 2 or 1, meaning u got a crit or u didnt.
% chance to hit ow or cb should be changed to 1 or 0, because u either get it or you dont. so its tricky to factor all this.
the above equation is the most accurate, but thats on paper
when comparing a build, such as glass vs. vita, the best way is to do life/avgdmg
if the ratio for life(vita)/avgdmg(glass) is greater than the ratio of life(glass)/avgdmg(vita)
then vita is a better build, meaning that if u go hit for hit, vita will take more hits
in nearly all cases, vita is the better build, that is, you can take more hits vs. a glass build. but its usually close, liek for instance in a vita build maybe u can take 3 hits from a glass build, whereas the glass build can take 2.5 hits. so really its alot of luck factored in.
but on the whole, vita wins out. the only way glass might truly trump this is if we could use forts, where the dmg gained by glass or semi glass builds is much higher
Not to mention that taking more hits also gives more chances to avoid (HP goes far on amazons due to this)
even the difference between 1000 and 1500 hp is huge on an amazon
say an opponent is dealing a solid 600 damage each attack (After all modifiers and reductions)
The 1000 hp zon is going to have a series of hits/dodges that will look similar to this:

dodge, dodge, hit for 600, dodge, dodge, another hit for 600 = dead
the 1500 zon is going to have a sliver left after the first 2 (actual hits)
that remaining sliver is going to provide at least a couple more dodges on average before you actually get hit and die

dodge, dodge, hit for 600, dodge, dodge, another hit for 600, dodge, dodge, hit again = dead
To sum it up into lamen terms, that extra 100 hp on your zon can and often does result in you being able to tank out a few more avoids and a few more blocks before actually going down
So the solid equation of life/avgdmg really becomes exponential when avoiding/dodging is being taken into consideration
Vita is clearly the superior choice as the evidence supports in both of your posts
The damage loss is actually very small when ditching dex
People need to understand this
Way too many posts in the strategy & guides section about (should I make my bowa dex or vita?)
