Ok well first off just so you have an explaination and so does everyone else:
The reason I asked you to keep my gears a secret was so that other people don't go copying my setup and using it against me in the zon tournament. There are alot of trade secrets alot of us keep. These can include anything from character skill tree point allocation assignment, stat point allocation assignment, gears and tips/tricks on dueling. We don't give away all of these secrets because we want to ensure we have a bit of an edge over the competition. At the same time alot of this stuff we learned came at the expense of our own hard work, testing, research and remaking our characters time and time over again.
For example Ryland and Ace have various design builds and set ups. However they don't share them with everyone because of the hard work they put into their characters. Sometimes they will be nice and share a few things with us because they want us to help us improve ourselves as duelers however they won't tell us everything.
Same reason goes with me. Reason I showed you my gears is because I knew you thought in your mind I was using healing potions from my belt because my life was so high after you had hit me. When you asked me to empty my belt I did so. What came out was all mana potions. So this confused you. At this point I owed you an explaination so I showed you my gears. I didn't want to as I wanted to keep my ideas a secret to use my setup in future battles but of course I did as I owe you an explaination.
Now of course I had been testing these gears rigerously with other members and discussing the results. The results of course from these weeks of testing in our duel games were amazing. But of course we needed to test them in a live environment against an opponent that was out there to really win a duel. So today was the day and I choose to test it against you. Mostly because I knew you're one of the best duelers here and would take the duel seriously. What better person to test this setup on and see if it works?
When this tourney started originally the rules were more flexible. At the time there as I recall I don't remember there being cap on life replenish. I knew there was stuff like no valk during duels (decoy is allowed), no slow missle, remove chilling armor off each duel, no engima to be used, etc. Heck I said if there is a no cap on life rep why not find a way to abuse something legitmately to my advantage? I discussed this with other members on our vent and they said yeah that sounds like a good idea.
So we said lets see if we can find a way to use it our advantage. So hence the trials and testing happened. We tried everything we could think of including some things out of the box. Eventually we came up with the set up I showed you which were the boots and shield. The boots I found out could have up to 5-10 life replenish.
Since all we were doing was physical damage there was no need for other mods such as resists. I did a bit more research and found out that the boots themselves can spawn up to 15 life rep. So I was like wow. This was due to the fact that the 10 life rep is an affixment (attached to the boot) and then another +5 life rep can spawn on top of the +10 affixment. This would make the boots 15 life rep. So I started crafting. Eventually I got a few good pairs of boots. Eventually I got the one's I showed you 30fwr/14life rep. So this was perfect. 14 life rep and 30% fast walk run needed to out run another zon.
So I discussed the idea further with my friends and we set up a date to meet to do our testing. I replaced my wartraveller boots with the blood boots. We knew that by replacing them we would lose 600 to 700 dmg they add to our bows, plus the vitality on them and strength, but we wanted to test it to see if was viable. Sure enough it was.
So then I started looking at if there is anyway we can get more life replenish without sacrifing gears that would hurt us? Next possible item we could remove is the stormshield. So I started looking at various shields. These included magical, set, unique, crafted and runewords. What we came up with was Gerke's Sanctuary.
+180-240% Enhanced Defense (varies)
+30% Increased Chance of Blocking
All Resistances +20-30 (varies)
Replenish Life +15
Damage Reduced By 11-16 (varies)
Magic Damage Reduced By 14-18 (varies)
(Only Spawns In Patch 1.09 or later)
The stats were pretty much amazing. 30% increase block (reaches our max block), 15 life rep (meets our replenish idea), dmg reduce and magic reduce and 30 resist all. All the mods were perfect. So next option was to socket it with a nice jewel. So I found a nice -15 requirement +3 life rep jewel.
Again we started testing zon vs zon and the gears were working.
Today was test day and I decied to try it against you. However as I found out afterwards from you there is a cap in place I was not aware of. Again I do apology for not knowing that.
The reason I showed you my gears was to prove I don't cheat. The second reason I asked you keep it a secret is because of the hard work and testing that went into making this setup.
It was my edge on the competition. I was planning on using it as my secret weapon and surprising people. I knew eventually people would figure it out and someone would attempt to try the same set up I did. But till then it was my secret and the individuals I had shared it with. I knew I could trust these people to keep my setup a secret and I could maintain my edge.
I showed it to you to confirm I wasn't cheating and asked you to keep it secret as I trusted you wouldn't tell anyone about my gears so I could maintain an edge over the competition.
Main problem is once you tell someone something then everyone knows. And once everyone knows then everyone is using that setup.
Its like when people use to use Asterons unique pally scepter back in the day for smite vs smite. It was the best weapon known. Nothing could beat it. However eventually grief came out. Some people laughed at it because it didn't have any enhanced damge on it. Just some stupid mods like minus target psn resist by 25% damage to demons and other crap. It seem more like a pvm weapon then anything else at the time. However some smiters saw the +400 damage on it. All the top smiters knew that the reason Asterons was so powerful was the fact it not only could spawn with +4 skills but because of the +85 dmg on it. This was what made it so good.
Well some smart people clued in on this and started using grief in smite vs smite tourneys. These guys would wreck the competition in usually 1 or 2 hits. Those who got wrecked were baffled? How can I be losing? What are those guys doing differently then I am?
Those who knew about the secret kept it just that secret. However eventually of course people figured it out and now every smiter uses grief 
Let me put it this way. If you accidently found out on your own that you could dupe any item in the game by simply hovering your mouse over any item and hitting alt + f4 five times would you tell anybody about it?
Well of course not. Once you told someone everyone would be doing it. Eventually to the point where Blizzard would patch the method of duping and then you're SOL (shit out of luck).
