Imo West used to be #1 Realm. West was for the big fish. I grew up on west pks ty. I returned and everyone was riding on east. My general take on useast realm is different than my take on the current us west, Europe, or Asia realm.

Each server and its public pk games have a different general aura about them. Since the games population isn't like walking down town on a busy weekend anymore playing repetitive days and times typically gets you bumping into the same general public again and again. This is another reason why you may find toxic players around over and over.
For me it is strange when I join a public pk game a year later and the same person with the same character name is in the same general public duel game name doing the same thing they had been doing before. Being toxic af and supporting of players who do just the same. Then to know these people are apart of larger Guilds and more? Well you get the idea.. One mouth feeds another. It is very unfortunate.
The saddest part is if you are a noob and you walk out to pk, and don't do it according to the general pubic rules others say, then you just as well as being the most BM player in the game and will be treated like so. It is really dumb.
The way I found to get around public games and navigate around the toxicity the simplest is to not speak. If I wanted to buddy up and ride out the aura of the game I could do that too. Then as others may have said making friends, joining groups, getting involved in tournaments and more will put you into games that are of higher standard of gaming thus returning a better general pvp experience for you both privately and publicly.
West is full of l8z players who couldn't chainlock a fish on dry land.
Let's not get it confused back in the day Europe was #1
