Arkoudaphobia is the fear of bears. One of the more typical fears, people suffering from it are scared by almost (if not all), types of bears including gentle ones such as the Panda. The causes seem to point to the stereotype that bears are strong, large animals that could tear apart a human, with either their claws or teeth.
People with this phobia try as much as possible to avoid forest like areas, and avoid other outdoor activities such as camping, in fear that they will be attacked by a bear. They won’t even go camping if it’s in a cabin or tent, or any type of accommodation in a forest-like area.
