A beardin with dual dreams or other runeword items that give elemental aura damage plus the paladin's conviction aura is too strong against other shifters, even in nightmare difficulty.

2016 Shapeshifter Melee Tournament
USWest Non-Ladder



Tournament Structure
Tournament will begin on November 4, 2016
Open to any character that can shift into a werewolf or werebear
Double Elimination - Each player must lose two matches in order to be eliminated from the tournament
Winner of loser's bracket must beat the winner of winner's bracket twice to claim first place
All players will have one week to complete each round
Dodges may be called on the 4-5th day of the week

Prize Support
Refer to latest post for current prize pool.
1st Place: 60% of Total Pot + Trophy
2nd Place: 30% of Total Pot + Trophy
3rd Place: 10% of Total Pot + Trophy

Match Rules
Matches will be first to 7
Trophy matches will be first to 10
Matches will take place in nightmare difficulty
Duels begin when both players say 'g', 'go', or '1'
In the case of mis-clicks, continue the duel, there are no re-dos
Any preexisting chilling armor/venom must be removed before the next duel
Each player may swap gear once during each match after a death and before casting any skills (1min limit at stash)
The winner of the duel must be able to make it back to town; otherwise, it is considered a draw (neither side gets a point)

General Rules
Do not use third party programs
Do not use stash/cube pre-buff
Do not use item charges on gear
Do not use mercenaries
Do not use Conviction aura
Do not use potions or shrines of any kind
Do not run, kite, or adjust position during duel
Do not angle; both players must be parallel to town entrance
Do not summon anything except Oak or HoW
Do not purposefully target opponent's Oak or HoW
If Oak or HoW dies mid-duel; the player may recast it (without moving)
Must be able to pick up body after dying (Automatic Match Loss)
Do not leave game before completing the match (Automatic Match Loss)
Must stay in wereform for the entirety of the duel
Must recast wereform (without moving) if duration ends during a duel
Maximum resistance may not exceed 85

Gear Restrictions
Grief, Hybrids, and ZBugs are allowed
Do not use any unperm items
Do not use items with knockback
Do not use items with slow target or emit Holy Freeze aura
Do not use items that have a chance to cast a curse that affects the opponent
Do not use any gear with elemental absorb (Oath, Phoenix, Ravenfrost excepted)
All ethereal gear must have self-repair or indestructible mod (CTA/BO side excepted)

*Honor System*
Due to the small size of the community (currently), there will be no mandatory referees for matches
Match participants will be responsible for keeping score and integrity of the matches
If there is a disagreement, the rules above will be the final decision
If there is a dispute, I am willing to referee the match
Most importantly, be respectful and enjoy yourselves!
