But to answer your question - Yes one must announce before their duels if they have cold check and/or ctc frost nova before the duels begin. If they dont announce it, and you inadverantly find out during the first duel, that duel will not count and you are permitted to do a free gear swap and replay duel #1.

Rules
----------------------------
1) Be respectful and follow the GM rules. Lets have fun.
2) You can enter up to 2 characters to be active in the ladder.
3) Respec is allowed before your match. However, you may not token during your set
4) If you are using any source of cold damage (or wearing items with ctc frost nova), you are obligated to announce it to your opponent before the match begins in order for your opponent to opt (or not) to wear cbf or half freeze before the match starts. If you fail to do so, and your opponent was not provided an opportunity to make necessary swaps, your opponent may request for a free swap and to redo the first duel. This can only be requested after the first duel. If you have already completed any additional duels after the first duel, there will be no redos.
5) You are limited to 2 gear swaps per set of duels. If/when you are swapping, you must announce if you are adding/removing cold-check and/or ctc frost nova.
6) Duels will be on soft-core non-ladder

CHALLENGING SYSTEM RULES
----------------------------
Duels will be first to 10..
* You may challenge up to 2 ranks above you until you reach the top 5 then you must duel #5 then #4 then #3 then #2 and then #1 sequentially (#7 may challenge #5 but #6 can only challenge #5 and cannot skip #5).
* After you POST the challenge, PM or discord message the challenged dueler.
* If you issue a challenged and win, you must wait 12 hours before issuing another challenge.
* If you issue a challenged and lose, you must wait 24 hours to issue another challenge with that character
* If you were challenged and successfully defend, you may challenge again right away.
* If you were challenged and lose, you must wait 24 hours to issue another challenge
* Dodge rule (afk, no-reply within 48-hours of issued challenge, no-show = auto-loss) (2 consecutive dodges and you're dropped to bottom of ladder).
* You may only have 1 active challenge at a time (Per character) - do not challenge someone if you are in a challenge and do not challenge someone in an existing challenge.
