How to reduce your odds of getting welched:
Always act in a civil manner
* belittling your opponent during an fg duel is a great way to get welched, making fun of someone after they've lost a bet encourages them not to hold up their end of the bargain in real life, this is no different in gaming
Have a sense of humor ~ basically be sociable, this helps
If you get welched
* because of cheating accusations, you can still get paid by explaining what you're doing (people can be quiet reasonable)
~ i've been welched a few times after aa accusations only to be paid in full after linking them to threads about various techniques in the strategy and guides section (i'm relatively new so i keep such links in my profile for ez access)
I've been pvping off and on for almost a year now, won most of my fg duels, lost a few (
d_dub1 ) , never welched and have only been welched once~

this is common sense.
but it always happens.
i think people get a joy of trying to make someone mad or put them down.
or their just think too highly of themselves.
