That's at discretion of the mod, in matchup with that dynamic requires an automatic need to be defensive to stand a chance to win due to the massive advantage of the duel, I think the rule is more steered toward a matchup where someone with an advantage plays defensive making the already hard matchup a complete waste of time.

Yes die as little as possible, I think the primary concern is wins though because aslong as you WIN each round you will stay on top in numbers.
