Need to focus on the macro's (carbs,proteins, fats), usually done in a ratio (3:2:1 or 3:2:2 etc). Chances are, you were taking in too many
carbs/fat and not enough protein. However, gaining fat while bulking shouldn't discourage you - in fat its perfectly normal. Along with the fat, I'm certain you were gaining muscle. Following a bulk cycle, you want to start cutting to get leaned out again while maintaining the muscle gain.
You should start posting in H&F some of those guys have a ton of knowledge and its a pretty entertaining subforum overall :X
