The D2r Softcore Melee Ladder will be temporaly on breakHi, everyone. I have a few words for the melee community that I would like to share. On December 20, 2021, I created D2R’s first major GM melee ladder, taking inspiration from our predecessors in LoD who ran multiple successful melee ladders over LoD’s 20+ year lifespan. I was very happy to see so much interest in it. At one time, we had nearly 40 participants dueling to get to the top, and we usually had on average 30 participants at any given time. Soon, we will be celebrating the one year anniversary of this GM melee ladder and the badass duels that it helped to incite. I am very happy that so many people developed good friendships as a result of the melee community on D2R, especially people who are so passionate about melee. Our community is also very diverse, we have older players from LoD, many older and prestigious guilds from LoD, young guns, and people who are curious about melee and want to know more.
Recently, i have allowed all GM melee classes to join this ladder. Unfortunately, we have had some controversy in the melee community, especially over the last couple of days. I firmly believe that the best thing to do is unite the melee community so that everyone can duel with one another and respect one another. It is important to remember in times like these had LoD East/West had many notorious melee ladders where they had to get through much drama, issues, and controversy – but they got through and had healthy communities for years to come after that.
I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to trying to make the melee community better and healthier. Let’s play in peace and have fun !
The other main ladder will be merging in this place when ladder resets.
Regards, Stevo
