i think the clearest it can get is 3 days before a rematch fighting for the exact same position

They're ya go. U can duel him sooner if, lets say A challenges B. A losses so B challenges C...and losses. A can challenge B again since there was a duel taken place. Basically B got his turn to challenge C for higher rank and it's A's turn again. (As long as no one challenges A in the meantime)

You have to wait 3 days before a rematch, fighting for the exact same position. Unless one of those combatants has had another challenge within those 3 days, and is still in the same position, then a rematch can instantly be remade.

yes?. or would it be. only if the Combatant 'on top' has had a challenge within those 3 days

Yes to this, thats the only way a rematch for the same position against the same Barb can be made within 3 days.
