Since I'm back on the ladder again I'll add my 2 cents...
BvB has a certain skill cap to it. WWing, to ppl who don't understand the abilities mechanics, think its brainless but it is extremely difficult to master. In the 10+ years I've been BvBing in D2 and as a member on and off this ladder since day 1 I can say that I've seen very few people do it correctly. I recall a similar issue arise in this thread when people accused me of "wwing dirty" and at the time there was a call by the masses to only be allowed to WW in straight lines... I kid you not look in the earl 1000's pages. The good barbs stayed on the ladder and the ones who didn't know how to cut and time correctly kept losing and eventually left to never be heard form again...
The only possible introduction of a skill cap into this dueling type is allowing gear changes. If a player can guess exactly what his opponents setup is, and knows how to counter it with gear in his stash I don't see why that shouldn't be allowed. Like using the mechanics of WW a top BvB player on this ladder you should be able to tell what he changed his setup to and counter his gear swap.
At the end of this day this ladder always will go on in some fashion or another. To all the new people who I don't know on this ladder that joined since I last left, this is how BvB has been from the beginning on East, if you leave because of someone using gear changes advantageously you wouldn't be the first to try and makes excuses to why you've lost duels and you certainly won't be the last.
this is true, i could quit and come back in a year lad would still be here and still going on..................... lol, also straight lines would be boring as hell id have to iron golem my gear and uninstall d2,
some 1 always has to cry when there sa fort dies to a etooth setup lol.... when i lose i try to blame lag(56k[3-5kbps dl/ul] user+ at&t[blizz host] server ew lol) not my opp or the game.
