You're not the only one, there's a twitch clip with a dude with a 3080ti who gets frames drops from creeper, and that's why its banned. It's not a matter of peoples pc's its the optimization from blizzard.

Makes sense, I would be curious if that person was on linux (I am using ubuntu + Wine to load d2r). I'd bet blizzard patches this like the way they patched clay golem. When d2r first came out clay golem corpses in mass would crash everyone's game. I get a similar type of lag spike from creeper.

Awesome! FYI for those that missed it, this stream includes duels from multiple perspectives throughout the entire event from start to finish from Walk, Zee, and Jess' perspectives. For duels that include them against each other, the perspectives are alternated as well. Was a trial run and we're going to look for ways to improve on this (i.e. score overlay).
