I mean, I listened the best I could during that panel. Was hoping they'd literally confirm wsg live as it is the single most important thing for d2pvp, but they did talk about how the new overlay is literally just dropped over the old game and 25 tick server/grid system. That does give me little hope, as d2 without breakpoints would just never be the same thing. This game is designed like original sprite fighting game mechanically. Although, trying to run a system as poorly optimized at d2 with a full new game overlaid over it may destroy some of your guys potato computers lmao.
Given they patched wsg server side on b.net, and then re-patched it into the game later (albeit, a slightly different but more powerful version of how it use to work...) it tells me at least 1 person at blizzard know about it and why we need it. Hopefully that guys involved in the development?
I would suspect a number of other QoL bugs we depend on to change however. I can't see a world where they leave inventory invisible to other people to cause str/dex bugging, or things like wsm (even a-wsm was ruined on b.net :/), skill bugs, desyncing, etc.
But there's also a huge opportunity to fix the numerous bugs that affect pvm.... Just off the top of my head shit like mana burn or viper claws should just be dealt with. Its not hard to divide some values by 256 Lmao.... Makes me wonder if they found that giant list of 100+ bugs in d2 list that was compiled on a wiki years back, and actually want to look at some of them. At the very least it SOUNDS like they want to leave the game as untouched as they can, which is a good thing for us. Then again, WC3 Reforged... Lmao
