wanted to share a realization: crafted safety rings are the new meta for fort users, largely because the mdr applies to both cold damage and fire damage from enemy arrows, whereas gaze users already have enough mdr to nullify all cold damage.

+ (1-5) To Vitality
Magic Damage Reduced By 1-2 (nullify up to ~3 damage per enemy arrow, so roughly 21 average life per duel, assuming an average of 7 arrows to kill)
Damage Reduced By 1-4 (nullify up to 2 or 3 damage per enemy arrow depending on rounding and dr%)

i guess the ideal would be 15dex, 20str, 5 rep (with 10 rep on dungos), 5 vit, 2mdr, 4pdr, 30 fire res or 120 attack rating. (would also work with min damage or life instead of rep)

it's a shame these don't really exist on the market, but it makes sense given most pvp chars are able to use bo, so they prioritize blood rings over safety rings. you'd have to craft your own.

i'm still using gaze 160-60 cuz i still think it's a bit better (although more expensive)

My last ring was 20str 15 dex 30 lite res 50 life.

we have similar tastes, im rocking a 22 str 14 dex 47 life 21 light res ring atm

haven't seen many like that so far. would be interesting to see how much fg it'd sell for on d2r.

i'd love to find one with 20+ str, 15dex, 9 rep, 20 life, 30 fire res / light res / attack rating / mana
