I like this is almost 200 pages and now is people arguing about weightlifting.
I do enjoy weights I think there is a lot of benefits if you have good form, or at a minimum, stay tight. Hard to have 100% form when you are maxing yourself out. But if you cant have perfect form and can at least stay tight, you can still push yourself with less risk of injury. I’m no beast like some, but I weigh 145 and my DL goal is 3x3 at 400lbs, last heavy set was 3x3 345lbs so I got a ways to go.
It’s funny tho to go to the gym and see people doing heavy sets with suuuuuper bad form. Like man your spinal erectors can’t handle that shit and girls don’t think you look good, only impresses people who don’t know what the fuck they’re doing (75% of gym goers if I had to guess).
yeah this thread is random af, much like Kappa himself who created it
Well I've never seen "perfect form", we are humans not robots. But I've seen really really good form and really bad form.
Studies are starting to show how bad certain exercises are for your spine, and by the time you hit your 40's - 50's you're fucked.
Using Ronnie Coleman as an great example vs Dorian Yates. They asked Dorian why he never had the spinal and hip issues that Ronnie had.
His answer was simple: I stopped doing heavy squats. I only did medium - light weight and that was on a smith machine. Eventually I stopped doing squats altogether.
Ronnie has a fused spine and STILL does them... and he is in pain everyday of his life.
