In sports it’s usually the division winners / best record. I think the best way to approach this is probaly with a random number generator where both sides pick either odd or even and the mediators generate the number, consult with the rest of the community if the ping becomes a real issue. With d2r there’s a homogenous player base now so I imagine ping will become more of a issue in the future as the community grows. I’m fine with whatever though, I’m sure we can all adapt :) .

I definitely agree it’s more a problem than the east / west fiasco. My ping is over 300 on EU so it’s just a frustrating experience lol.

I like the idea of defender playing in their 'home' first and when have enough players we can just simple split in to 2 ladders - EU and NA.
I think it will be also helpful to add NA/EU to the players list so we will know exactly who are from NA and who from EU.

skill ceiling is very high in zvz and its def possible to dominate ladder
