Our challenge is finished. I won against soxfan24. We had to play ft3 on both servers due to the really high ping.

i think for future duels if it is on different servers we should find a way to decide who goes first on there own server. who ever goes first on there own server due to ping issues is at an advantage, maybe have a mediator decide or something. losing due to high ping on a different server first is quite tilting.

hmm that's tough, thinking maybe just a coin toss would be most fair. another option could be something like defender always goes first on their server

how do they do it in sports? who gets home court advantage first in a playoff series?

In sports it’s usually the division winners / best record. I think the best way to approach this is probaly with a random number generator where both sides pick either odd or even and the mediators generate the number, consult with the rest of the community if the ping becomes a real issue. With d2r there’s a homogenous player base now so I imagine ping will become more of a issue in the future as the community grows. I’m fine with whatever though, I’m sure we can all adapt .
