wanted to chime in on the gaze vs 30frw debate

ik i've said this before but i feel as though it's often overlooked: the 15 magic damage reduction on gaze is a huge factor for three reasons: fire damage from faith, cold damage from ravenfrost, and (to a lesser degree) light damage from javs. assuming you get hit with 6x arrows on average per duel, that's 120 total fire damage before resists and ~30 cold damage before resists + sorb.

with gaze and 15 mdr, you're looking at 5 fire damage per arrow before resists (so about total 30 damage before resists or ~20-15 total fire damage after resists) and it totally negates cold damage afaict (45 max divided by 6 minus 15 is effectively zero)

TLDR: 15 mdr creates a difference of about 60 hp per duel assuming ~40 fire res and cold res, or close to 3% hp assuming 2100 health. not the biggest game changer but certainly significant. also consider frw charms are cheaper than lifers.

Alright. Shaft 40/15 vs ber’d gaze.

Swirls. Other then swirls it’s 30 dr high def 60 life armor vs 20 dr dual leech. With swirls

Jewelers 160/60 of whale and gaze vs shaft and jewelers of speed.

30 r/w = 10 sc’s. 100 life = 5 sc’s why not jtos

If going zva having a swappable armor for fort seems better

shaft is heavy armor, gives -25 FRW so u only get 5 frw extra rlly
