any thoughts ?

everybody with a jabber on nl and on every other ladder casts it with battle orders is what i've been seeing for years, but escl ladder rules may be different because of all the newcomers

can drop me to the bottom if i've been breaking the rules since the start of the ladder :)

BO and Holy Shield affects yourself so can be casted before the Go

When it’s to de-buff the other person, it only makes sense after the Go right?

don't know, usually i melee on nonladder where it is casted when you bo and others have been doing it that way on the past escl ladders.

This ladder has a lot of new people trying out melee, so maybe it is a little different.

I just think why make it so there's more chances to misclick when you're going to be inner sighted anyways.

I guess we can stand a screen apart instead of a few steps and fumble lol

the issue is not in the misclicking from having to switch between skills, but the disadvantage of desynch with blizzard's servers when you have to stop moving to cast inner sight (as you can see in my gif, before the misclicking). standing still and shift+jabbing seems like an inelegant solution but i'm not an expert.

the pause before i cast inner sight was because i was already getting hit without realizing it because of desynch, that was not fumbling.

Yeah i see the desynch, that is also fixed by casting before the duel, but this seems really dumb to argue about when it can go so much smoother when you just duel the way most jabbers have been dueling until this week.

Whatever you guys decide should be fine as long as everybody is on the same page.

Personally I'm with you, man. I don't think there's a doubt in anyone's mind that zons will cast Inner Sight - so if it makes life that much easier on the person playing a zon, I don't think it should matter when it's cast (i.e. freely cast it before the duel). All someone would be hoping for in that scenario is to capitalize on someone fumbling around and misclicking - which seems like a sad start to a melee duel.

you can click perfectly and still get raped by the desynch, my recording was a bad example because it was both the desynch+misclicking

Based on GoW_Ts comment above mine, that's in part from having to cast inner sight in the midst of walking/your opponent walking.

To be honest with you, not that I'm well versed in melee (this is my first attempt at it), but in the 100+ duels I've had this ladder, I've never once had the issue you've shown in your recording.

I always thought it was just lag on my end when that happens and chalk it up to me being in Cali and playing East.
My ping is high even just standing in town.

Inner sight can be cast before the duel, it is a prebuff debuff not a physical attack.

I pm'd a few people asking around yesterday and seeing how the rare melee tournament was run when I was away.

This is the ruling for this league.
