Dear Melee Players,

Hey, I’m Ozymandias. I’ve been dueling in D2R all-class melee for a long time, and I want to bring my vision of fairness to life.
For years, I’ve believed that fun, competitive play starts with a fair playing field—because without fairness, what’s the point?

I’ve pushed for key changes in D2R melee, and while they’ve been adopted by many groups, they weren’t always welcomed at first.
I’ve even been banned from some ladders for challenging the status quo—but in the end, the game is better for it:

✅ Voting in D2R ladders – Before, admins made all the decisions. Now, many groups let players vote on rules.
✅ Class balancing – Melee used to be wildly unbalanced, but we’ve made progress:

1️⃣ Barbs went from irrelevant to a viable class.
2️⃣ Zeals used to get steamrolled by Furies, but with Death, they actually stand a chance.
3️⃣ Zons were tearing through everyone with Inner Sight 20—lowering it to Inner Sight 10 made matchups much more reasonable.

But there’s one more change I’ve always wanted to make. It’s been controversial, so I’m launching a new ladder to make it happen.

Let’s cut to the chase—there’s nothing fair about getting smacked around by $10 weapons.
🎉That’s why I’m starting a GM Melee ladder with NO EDC🎉

If you’re tired of the “I’m too poor for a good weapon” excuse from players decked out in expensive gear while swinging an EDC,
this is your chance to break free from the nonsense.

Let’s make D2R melee as fair and fun as it should be.

Hi everyone. As many of you have noticed, the ladder has not been updated in a while.
We have been working on an automated ladder and now its finally completed!
It passed our initial testing and its stable to use.

The biggest issue with the former ladder system was scheduling matches since it is such a big hurdle
for busy adults with real life obligations.
Now with the automated ladder, players can fight whoever is available online
and report around the clock!
So no more waiting for your opponents at 2am in the morning or last minute match cancellations.
You can now focus on Just Melee! :banana:
