tbh this ladder has some pretty shitty rules, favors inactive ppl over active ppl, discourages a lot of duels ....

With all due respect donthaveaname
The rules of this ladder are set exactly the way they are for very specific reasons

(A) 99% of the people still playing Diablo 2 are 30 years old+
Which means they have jobs "if not serious careers" and children
When considering this, you'll understand why the dodge rules are set the way they are and why we are lenient with scheduling, especially during the holidays

(B) The rules of this ladder do not encourage inactive participants
But they do not encourage people who are looking to gain rank #1 in 24 hours either
Some people can only fudge a match or two, every 4 days
Or maybe they "don't want" or "can't" defend their rank in a Diablo 2 pvp ladder, twice a day
Considering that they are more than likely 30+ years old and have a life to tend to

(C) If we were to try and shorten dodge rules to 2 days and get critical with people about it
You would see the roster of this ladder drop from 11 players, to about 3 players, due to real life agenda
Consider the reality of 30+ year old gamers

(D) Before other rules are even brought in to question:
The ZvZ rules are set exactly the way they are for purposes of shortening the length of ZvZ matches
If normal GM ruling is allowed in a ZvZ Bowa ladder, the matches become redundant and elongated to a point of stalemate
Even with our current ruling which is to dumb down the endurance of Bowa vs Bowa builds, I have personally moderated #1 ranked matches that lasted nearly 3 hours
This is why many special rules are of circumstance here "such as no Fortitude Armor"
Chilling Armor proc is just a way to further elongate an already 3 hour long match with it's boost to defense "to further prevent multi" and it's way of negating projectiles in general
This is but one example of why the rules are the way they are

it is designed for inactive people you basically said that's how you designed the rules,
i'm not here to argue; go read the BvB ww ladder rules - not sure why zvz is special

glad there's a zvz ladder at all. its snail paced, w/e

when can I challenge someone? I don't want to move up the ladder in 24 hrs
I want to move up the ladder this life time. all i want to do is duel.
obviously moving up this ladder is going to require patience.

plz remove the 24hr after you lose to challenge someone, that is annoying
is that applied to the person who was challenged or only the challenger?

it is to stop ppl from staying in challenges non stop.

if you challenge somone and lose. in theory you would challenge sumone else right away and somone beneath you cannot challenge you to try to move up.

example.

5 isnt online at the time of the duel.
4 challenges 2 as soon as he loses to 3
5 doesent get to challenge because he wasnt online to do it instantly after 4 lost to 3.

Please refer most importantly to Point (C), again

The rules of this ladder are always up for review and are changed or kept the same, depending on popular votes
Review them and stir debate if you must but please do so in a more productive "let's discuss it" kind of way
And less of a "let's stir shit up" kind of way

I don't have a lot of time to log-in and help organize this ladder anymore
I like to make that time count for something productive, when I do
