I for one feel if this ladder if this ladder is GM, any unperm or glitched (indestructible without zod) items should not be allowed. This would include garreats and/or eth valors.

However, in bvb, given the popularity of high strength builds the garreats doesn't really provide that much of an advantage. The same applies for the eth valors, since the bonus to vitality is not affected by battle orders and you take a massive damage loss by not using fort. Unperm charms should also be banned, but that is another story.

This "grief of doom" is a different animal. It is not so much the raw damage difference (when compared to a grief) but the 25% open wounds. 60% OW (if used with gores and dracs) means that on average you will always have it on. Unlike in melee BvB duels take on average 2 or more minutes, which allows for several cycles of open wounds. Furthermore, this hacked runeword makes items such as a duress and toothrow obsolete; it was hard as hell to make them work before and now they are basically dead.

If this runeword is to be allowed then under no circumstances it should be allowed with drac's.

tl;dr allow runeword only if it is not used with dracs.

Talking about Grief.o.Doom --

How is the -25% target def computed on a regular Grief? Is it Total Def including (Shout + Iron skin or Holy shield) reduced by 25% or just the gear def reduced by 25% and the bonus for shout + iron skin / holy shield is not reduced?

Just trying to see what the trade off would be between 60% OW vs the opponent having -25% target def.

I did this calculation before, but cant find the spreadsheet. If your barb has 30k def the -25% takes off about 3-4k. That in turn becomes a 1-2% more chance to hit (after block is taken into account). Not sure if these numbers are correct, but they are within the ball park.
