In D2R, that zon could've used strafe and the druid would've been deleted and had to remake the character.


thanks that put all the pieces together and made it crystal clear. I can appreciate that if someone plays a zon this should all make sense, but as a druid main I only really ever had basic pieces of info that I never really needed to fully understand.

the strafe thing you mentioned sounds scary- so they fixed strafe locking where their attack would cancel if they dodged.. Wouldnt that also make a zon dangerous against a sin like what i was suggesting earlier? someone said that zons are a free kill to sins in d2r.

they are dangerous, but sin's entire martial arts tree is bugged atm to ignore block/dodge mechanics, effectively being better than smite, which kind of fucks zons over. So that kind of cancels out any advantage any other class may have had, even smiters will lose a straight fight vs a sin that's kicking atm.

Thanks, sorry I have been keeping an eye on it as much as I can with the search filter and picking up little clues here and there, but I thought I'd ask these things directly. Maybe it will help others trying to watch this all unfold, too!


I've watched several duels, when I quit good ol' D2 10+ years ago, they were transitioning into this extremely defensive playstyle the majority of the "best players" adopted... seems like today's players have adopted it as well.

Plus most bugs were fixed, which is good.

The skill Standard definitely increased since then not just in regards to fpk, average skill is better. Those that maily l8z/def Play won't be the top pvpers, if you want serious gameplay d2r is laughably not the place for it.

well that's lame.

also, i've been testing my zon in pve again to try and see what the hells going on with dodge.

everytime there's hydras attacking me my zon is getting put into a dodge even when shes attacking. this was with charged strike.

when it's NOT happening is if i'm using jab.

soooo... is there a window when the zons attack is no longer considered an attack and will be susceptible to going into the dodge animation, or is it the block animation coming up then forcing her into a dodge animation afterwards, because she's 100% dodging while im holding right click down constantly.

i guess what i need to try next is removing my shield and seeing if its the block switching over to dodge.

edit: tested with and without a shield. you guys were saying it's supposed to not kick in during an attack but it is? look and see:
