Yeah who knows, I can’t point fingers but nobody really knows who the hackers are.
Dont think they worked for blizz, they got me on july 31 and i wrote my whole story on their forum but in a nut shell, bboy22 wasnt hacking people. Hed get your email name and d2 account name he wanted to take and contact blizz chat support. Hed then say he forgot his pw to account say *bosu and then hed say he no longer have access to the email it’s registered to and state your email. How he finds your email could be someone you done PayPal trades with or another means, doesnt matter but blizzard grandmasters would fall for it because he knew the email and so they assumed it must be you, worse if you didnt have double verify on your bnet account he then could get access to your cd keys and with that he can get your pw to your accounts that were created with that cd key. Basically he not hacker just exploiting clueless classic team members at blizz, while he could be a member of their team it doesnt take on of them to do this. They also liked to get people on fridays because then u cant get into your account until monday the soonest as their chats are open mon-fri. So anyways once he says he no longer can access the email his d2 account is registered to they change the email on your acc to whatever he wants. Thats why when u request a new pw after u failed to log in you never recieve anything. Thats also why you never got an email verifying your permission to change the account its registered to. In a nut shell after 11 days arguing with blizz they admitted that this is what happened to my account and they have had retraining and no longer allowing this to happen and thats why nobody been hacked since august 14th or after. Keep in mind its still safer to have an email registered to your d2 accounts that is used for nothing else and that is double verification, also double verify your bnet account. And lastly use a completely unique d2 password that u use nowhere else as this is the other method, they find out your email and look for cracked sites your email has been used on and they try the passwords you used on those sites.
Do that and you should be safe
