9 frame casting is not the same as 4 frame trap stun, but that’s a good point nonetheless. Perhaps nerfing Sin cast speed all together wouldn’t be a bad idea considering the indirect massive buff they just received and the fact that they were already god in every pvp aspect. Bringing back WSG would be the best option but perhaps it isn’t a bad idea for someone to be bringing up balancing options with it gone considering it might not come back? Could be pointless anyway, I doubt they’re very interested in taking opinions for balancing Diablo 2 in 2018.

the only imaginable way they could 'fix' it without reverting the WSG change would be to add in some kind of new FHR mechanics or change how mind blast works
you can't just mess with a few numbers or add in delays to a few skills. As long as mind blast can put a 10 second stun debuff on enemy players from any range to reduce their FHR threshold to 0 damage, well then everything goes nutty with it. Just teleporting on top of people with shadow master and spamming fireblast does it. The kinds of changes it would take to actually balance it- maybe allowing movement during FHR animation, putting a 15 frame FHR grace timer like blocking has, making mind blast unreliable and shorter duration, etc etc- even if you could fix the mind blast bug, you'd change the balance of PvP a whole ton.
