What is the reason? It prevents nothing; it removes a solution to a problem and instead gives the alternative "just wait if you're lagging."
Hypothetically, If I really wanted to reload my D2 with my 'hacks', I could just manually disconnect from the wireless network and drop from the game, which wouldn't result in DQ. Anybody clever enough to have hacks and still have all their accounts right now is clever enough to figure that out.
If players are lagging, they should be allowed to reconnect to battle.net as a possible remedy, and be allowed to exit/rejoin the game.
I don't see any reason for it to be otherwise, aside from both you and Jay being annoyed when I feel the need to rejoin because my connection sucks balls.
