Let's take a couple step backs and try this.

If I'm playing a zon, and a wind druid teleports onto me, I am talking about when the zon gets put into a dodge animation. There's both the attack being glitched like with strafe and strafe locking you, and the animation itself if I was just standing in place.

before the zon would wsg to cancel the animation and try to get away from the nado spam. wsg doesn't work anymore.

What people have been saying is that something changed with the animation that lets them get out of the animation itself without wsg. What you're saying is the animation won't happen if you're in an attack- which is what the strafe bug was all about where they'd get locked, or just running around with evade. That's fine, what about the animation itself? Like if I wasn't fortunate enough to have been mid attack to prevent it from occuring*

Do you or the guy you're speaking for know if anything has changed with the animation itself to let people get out of it without WSG? Because I've seen users saying it's different but its like, whatever tf they feel with no tests at all and then just goons arguing about who's played diablo 2 longer elsewhere. It would be nice if we could maybe fast forward past that stuff here and figure out if something's changed with the animation.

Bro the animation triggers like once in 5 duels. I sit on the zon 24/7 spamming fbs and firewall the animation does not triger. U just run and dodge without animation.

well that definitely sounds different. whenever i'd duel zons in the past they'd start breakdancing the moment my wind druid stomped them.

Not talking about scrubs in pubs. When the zon knows how to play.

the only way you could let it trigger would be if you literally werent inputting any action at all, if you are attacking or walking, you cant be locked.

so unless you're literally afk during the duel, you shouldnt get locked.

Yes what you're seeing in the video is dodge locking - basically, as soon as that animation starts, they are stationary and you can hit them a few times before doing a short teleport. During that time, if they attack or whatever, it doesn't register on the server even if it does on their screen so they are vulnerable. It means they have to really avoid taking any hits and either wsg out or run out of range before they attack.

It doesn't happen in D2R, it plays completely differently. There is no dodge animation, so cannot dodge lock them ,they run/attack without problem as if you aren't hitting them at all. Can't be body blocked either, so they are really tough to lockdown and dangerous even if you jump on them like you saw in that video. In D2R, that zon could've used strafe and the druid would've been deleted and had to remake the character.
