I think others might have a better response than me, but I am pretty sure the goal here to simply create a place that is welcoming to all GM melee builds, so if you're the type of person who isn't interested in participating in that kind of environment, that's totally fine and its your decision but maybe melee//gm isn't exactly the place for you. It basically is a private duel room designed to promote inclusivity and deter acts of BM/exclusivity/marginalization.

And again to be clear, players from pn//1 or wherever else are 100% welcome into melee//gm (and I would hope that ppl from melee/gm in turn could still go into pn/1 if they so choose). It's not like I have some list of naughty people that aren't allowed in, but hopefully if you come into melee/gm you come in with a general understanding that everyone is equal.

In sum: everyone is welcome in melee/gm, period. That is the difference.

Just giving something a new name though is like changing the shade of lipstick on a pig. It serves no purpose. I’m not against the idea. I just don’t see the point. If anything because there’s currently two known games there’s going to be a transition period. Where one dies off and then eventually one becomes the norm with the same players. Nothing changes except for the name of the game.

Edit in short: If your intention is to change the name of a game you’ve succeeded. If you’re trying to change some behaviours or attitudes this is not going to work.

We will also have democratic control over future rules changes which wouldn’t be the case in the palapk nations private game.

That doesn’t mean anything because there is no enforcement or government in a public private game. Great idea though. People can play whateve rule set. Are you going to nk and pk them if they don’t oblige by the new rules?

To be honest, I personally am not expecting anyone to come into this game with the explicit intention to BM anyone. The GM melee community is... well, generally good mannered. The main acts of BM I was seeing were pretty much anti-wolf druid sentiment/behaviors, and if this game is explicitly designed to be welcoming to all builds (including wolf druids), there's not much reason for anyone to come in and do the opposite unless it's a pure troll or something. But if it does happen, I suppose we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

I get what you’re saying, but at the end of the day. To call a spade a spade, it seems like people have some hurt feelings by specific people. So you’re proposing a new game to attempt to make change, but the same people are still welcome play. In essence nothing changes except for the game name. Solid idea
