He doesn’t know the answer nor is it an easy one to answer. There’s a few race conditions but to simplify I’ve pulled some info out of my ass
- first condition is the fhr of the target. Same as any other damage case, when you take 10% of your hp in damage you go into hit stun animation. The better fhr the faster target recover
-second condition is target movement speed. When target get knocked back they move a certain distance back, the speed at which they move back is based on the targets movement speed.
- the longer of the two animations is how long the knock back essentially “lock” ( I’m intentionally using this word as opposed to stun).
To give you 2 examples to better understand above
1) scenario 1 Amazon hits barb with multi shot for 5% of barb hp, barb knocked back but does not inter fhr animation so it gets knocked and you hear owe but he can immediately move as he was after moving back a grid
2) scenario 2, Amazon hits barb for 15% hp with cold damage, also happens to have decrepify proc also has Nosferatu with 10% slow. Now the barb is slowly moving back while in fhr animation (as if slow mo), he finishes moving back a grid, but still slowly recovering from fhr animation which isn’t done eventhough the knockback distance has been met because his movement speed beat race condition over fhr.
Additional note, the assumption here is no shield, but same principle apply, if blocked then target enter block recovery instead of hit recovery animation.
I made this up using a mix of average d2 player knowledge, experience from playing and educated guessing.
If I didn’t say tell you I was BSing you probably believe me. You should probably believe me anyway cause I’m probably right . Also zod prices will reach price of an soj in a week
