I believe Larceny/Grand larceny laws varies from state to state. For example, in my state (Virginia), the limit is $200.00

Pretty sure he would have gotten in a lot of trouble had I not called off the case w/ proof of refund. Stealing that much actual money is Grand Larceny; whether its over the internet or not -_-

Sorry, I can't post the full conversation/proof because it violates personal information rule on D2JSP, but you get the idea

eh some ambulance chaser would take it, defendant would just have to hire some dork fresh out of law school and pony up $250 to get it tossed.

Litterally all u'd have to do is say "prove it"

Which they cannot. Case closed

wouldn't hold up in court you don't own anything on your account, If you read the End User's License that you click "I Agree" on when you start playing the game, you'll see a clause that all you actually have is a LICENSE to use the in-game items and that they are actually the property of the game developer. That means you don't actually own any of the "property" that your avatar has inside the game world

Someone legitimately thought they'd be able to sue over pixels on a 16 year old video game?
