Cold dmg was banned after the ias patch as it nurfed barb significantly. It was banned with a specific reason after a week-long test.
I don't know who the voters were, but myself, Garen, DaC-Hader, ggBvB all other gg barb was not involved in the vote.
There's no logic for allowing cold dmg in the barb room again.
Some say raven frost is a necessary setup for a fool's weapon build. But.. are you serious??? Just go get the craft ring.
I say this on be half of many US barbs. We do not allow cold dmg in 'barb vs barb'. If you still want to use it, then go make your own room.
We are at 'barb vs barb' most of the time. It is hilarious that someone who does not play often wants to change to rule without a logical reasoning.
I want to add a couple of things too because this seems very silly
1. Tier1 initiated the vote in the Discord server that is the
official host of the GM melee communities. GM BvB has long been seen as a companion to the GM melee community, so there are several channels dedicated to GM bvb in that Discord. Tier1 has done more for the GM melee and related communities than anyone that has posted in this thread so far by creating multiple ladders, hosting multiple tournaments (including BvB ones, where you yourself happily participated and won), and moderating a Discord of nearly 200 community members. When you refuse to join this server, you are in essence saying that you don't care to provide your input or perspectives on a platform where everyone can communicate about community issues/decisions.
2. You and the other fellow that posted here aren't the "owners" of barb vs barb where you can decide what GM rules are and aren't. Respectfully,
the community decides that with votes. In 2023, every single video game community in existence is run out of a Discord. We have voted on many community issues in gm melee so that the majority of players get to decide on how they duel. It's not right that some people are claiming they are too "casual" to get into the Discord to vote on this seemingly important issue.
