What I'm looking for: A deep MMO with a solid community, enjoyable gameplay throughout the levels.

What I don't want: A blatantly obvious WoW ripoff that wants to rush everyone to maximum level for end-game raiding.

yeah

lotro is what you make of it... the end-game content exists but it's the ride up that most people enjoy. the world is massive and extremely enjoyable and most people are much more respectful and mature than other MMOs

that said, it's not that difficult to get to max level though it's not nearly as grindy as games like WoW

I'm in no hurry to level. I want to explore the world around me, build up my skills, complete deeds (that's my big focus right now), earn lots of money and master my crafting professions, and level as it happens.

I just don't want to have to worry about "omg your gearscore sucks no raiding 4 u" when/if I reach the end-game like in WoW.

How about the equipment and builds? I'm playing as a Captain, and I'm wondering if whatever equipment I can get my hands on will suffice even at end-game, or if I'm going to want very specific things that can only be gotten from raiding or something.

I just recently started playing lotro, what i have gathered from some people I met is that you have the choice of running instance like levels to gain better gear, or you can continue to complete deeds or buy turbine points to get high end items. So really if you feel like spending the time doing the right things you will be rewarded accordingly.

does this game only available in US and Canada ?

i think there's european and russian servers too
