Hey guys, I have a quick question.

I have shopped for several hours and can’t get my hands on an Artisan’s tower shield of deflecting.

I got myself a gothic shield instead. Other than a little bit less % block, you get lower FRW penalty.

My question is, is that shield as good as Tower shield?

I’m on D2R btw, not that it matters.

the speed velocity penalty isnt as big on gothic than it is on tower shield, but the block rate is significantly lower. i think the answer to your question will heavily depend on what kind of character youre looking to build.
(also just to make sure you know, it isnt exactly a frw penalty, its a total frw % reduction, just like vigor is a total frw % buff. its a very steep penalty especially if youre on a runner and need to catch fast characters)

Thank you for your reply. It is for a lvl 30 dueler kicksin hybrid. At lvl 30, I need 81 dex to achieve max block and I am getting around 40 dex from gear. I only need to invest 21pts into dex for 75% block. I will need to run a lot so I think the gothic shield might actually fits my need better than tower.
