The base type is perfect for MLD. I think dbutiki and I have had this difference in opinion on MLD bows in the past as well. A trophy shadow bow can do 100-400 damage. a matri (I assume this is dbutiki's preferred go-to mld bow) can be 100-300 damage and 1 frame faster. The thing about shadows is that because so few MLD builds have insane life you have the ability to 1-shot or 2-shot certain builds (compared to a matri which cannot).

shadows need 105 ias so they dont need ias (but its useful ok)
matri's need 145 ias so they need 20ias from bow
