Wear it. Die. Don't touch your body until the rush's done.
You can even upgrade it later to get a neat axe, unless d2r won't do it lol

ive heard u cant up quest items, so horodric hand axe and khalims hand axe, and charsi's (hammer) hand axe arent do-able.

hand axe is item code #1, so when a quest item is "up'd" it has no valid ID to up to in exceptional form, even flail as its not a true flail, so defaults to hand axe. on ladder this can be further up'd all the way. on nl up'd just once, on classic anyway.

horodric is the easiest to test, just do it during a rush. or even charsi's, just lvl a char to 8!

I remember one time I got guest accessed to a level 12 druid and it had the flail on it. Long story short I either picked it up by accident or showed som1 in trade screen and could never re-equip it again lol. I remember my buddy was like damn bro I shoulda told you haha.

I rerushed him obv but yeah that was hilarious to say the least. Never seen one of those chars before until then.
