i just found a +2 coldskills, +3 frozen orb, 20fc orb and started thinking if this might be a nice weapon for a lvl 30 sorc, maybe even some sort if crazy hybrid elements one
Doesn't habe to be the uber-stronk built, more of a fun-char, but still able to give a fight and not just rip without dealing any dam.

Afaik the main lld sorc builts are fb and blizzy, using spirit swords.

Did anybody try a lvl 30 frost orb sorc already and if so - how did it work out?
Do you think that orb can compete with spirit or might i just be better off using spirit?

Orb vs someone with enough cold res and mdr does almost no damage, might even heal a paladin with 2 spirits. 5 orb alone is ok but 5 orb 5 cmastery would be ideal

But early on when gear/inventories are weak and people have no cold res it will expose people. After they throw a shield on with cold res you'll stop doing damage and want to be a blizzard sorc.

I didn't have mdr on the screen at all but that might be a big dam reducer indead.
Maybe a combination of blizzard and orb would be the better option in this case. They share some syns, so maybe it could work.
Think i will try one and see how it goes

Thanks, i really appreciate your take on lld sorcs even if you are actually the only person on earth using mana boots over rare

well its semantics for the time being. no sign of such dropping any time soon. oh i have some craft mana boots, did you want to replace ur rare boots ?!?!

I guess the biggest disadvantage of an orb is the missing 15fcr which kind of make you a bit less flexible in your setups.
Still i think for some "experimental" builts it might work out somehow
