I have a gambling story!
in 2007 my cousin, a keen gambler, was celebrating his 30th Birthday in town and suggested we go to a casino. I was brought up in a culture were gambling was wrong, so I declined. He begged, I relented. We got to the Casino and I had no ID. Yay! I went home. My cousin told me to bring ID and come back in. I said no, and hung up. He phoned again, I relented. got my passport, got a taxi, got in, got a € 20.00 free chip. Went to the checkout, traded the chip for money, went upstairs. registered to the poker tournament ( I only know how to play poker) and won it. I went home with 1,000.00. I went back each week. At first my parents were not too keen on the idea but when I came back every week with € 1000 or more they said "keep going". Of course you don't win all the time and the day eventually came when I lost. I had gotten greedy. Situation: I went on Thursday night (Entrance fee: € 200 - 1st, € 5,000.00) Friday night (Entrance fee € 50.00 1st € 2,100.00) Saturday night (Entrance Fee € 25.00 with multi rebuys, Joint 1st 1,500.00) and Sunday night (Entrance Fee € 50.00 78th - lost € 50.00). After suffering this heavy blow I realised I that gambling was wrong and that....nah, i kept gambling. but live tournaments in my country petered out in 2008 (global recession) and its 2021 now and they still dont really feature in my small country.
so the moral of the story is, its ok to gamble provided your name is sasax or ferdia.
ps this all in feature in bar and pub is so braindead. no skill at all wtf its so stupid.
Good story. Here's one of my own.
I was in Las Vegas two years ago for my best friends bachelor party.
We didn't go to the casinos. We went to wet republic (massive outdoor pool party) instead. Ate half of my friends gummy bears. Turns out they were edibles. Got wrecked. Kissed many akaras
