So I was discussing with yesterday, a possible lvl 30 tour with a twist. I just wanted to see if people would be interested in such a tour? It will probably be held on Eu sc ldr (if it is to go ahead).
The idea is to play a lvl 30 tour with set and unique items only.
Gems, jewels and runes can be socketed in items however no runewords, rares, crafts and white items etc. Probably no charms either (to give everyone equal chance and make the chars as cheap as possible). The reason we are thinking about hosting such a tour is to bring the community together just before D2R. If the tour is a success then this could be the first tour on D2R, as all the items are available after the first week or two 👍

sorc can still be good, angelic ammy, 1 ring, wep gives big1 life, 50 mana and 1 skill.

Visc allowed yeah. Just missed it off it seems.
Also missed string of ears off haha

Loads of set combinations that could work, just got to experiment and see what works best. I have noidea what char/eq I'm going to run with but seems fun

without charms, it sounds even more fun

just my suggestion, dont allow exceptional uniques. or Sojs.

soj, string, vmagi, pcrown, sshroud, verc, etc all too strong. but im also just guessing a bit.

i'd make it like classic, all sets and then all normal uniques. still get bonesnap/steel driver, etc.

could make an exception for bletter but tbh with no inv wwbarb is a bit of a pipe dream.

in any case cool event and wish u guys all the best, sounds fun as hell.

i think the overriding theme for all of this is to be as organised as possible in advance of D2R and then to carry that over into D2R and try to grow the community with the new blood that will of course flood (these?) forums.
What we should aim for is to be more organised that everyone else, provide a unified front/community which would in turn attract the most amount of players.

I dont see why we would not allow runewords as the lvl 30 runewords are easily achieved on day1 ? i think its only the inventory that will cause people long term problems?
maybe some more background discussions / testing on this ?

We will have to test out a few builds etc.

yeah testing is a must. Early stages atm.
I just feel as soon as you add runewords you give casters (especially fb sorcs a huge advantage) even more so then sets/unique builds would.

Spirit is the problem, Libbys and sorcs would be 90% of the builds
However I agree that, they are easily achieved and available after first 1-2 weeks of ladder
