what do you all think is better and why. more damage or more AR. we are talking about on a weapon. I am faced with a hard decision do i want 30 more base damage or do i want 182 more base ar. If I choose the +30dmg i loose out on 178 ar from my current build and if i choose the +182 ar I loose no damage and only gain the AR bonus. my thinking is that i should choose the AR because more hits = more dps... so what do you all think ?

no it doesnt but hitting more often means your dealing more damage more often, if i hit you 1 out of every 6 attacks that i do in 30 seconds or i hit you 4 out of every 6 attacks that i do in 30 seconds im dealing more damage in the same amount of time, thats what AR does. i feel like i shouldn't have to explain that

I get what you are implying, more hits = more dps. But have you actually done the math?
The extra attack rate will add a very marginal benefit when you factor in same char lvl, 600-1k ish def, and max block
